We all have seen the commercials advertising the Army and Air Force willing to pay for a college education in return for service in the armed forces. While this may not be for everyone, it is a option to consider…

Each division has unique scholarship types offering unique opportunities:

The Air Force has Type 2 and Type 3. Type 2 can offer up to a cap of $15,000 per year towards scholarship funding, while Type 3 offers up to $9,000 per year. There are different requirements for each.

While the Air Force has a cap on the amount that can be given per year, the Army will give a student up to $74,000 to help pay for their college education (depending on the amount of time they enlist and the job they choose).

If you are afforded the choice, Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) programs can offer up to $5,000 in scholarship money as well!

I browsed this site and it wasn’t the most explicit resource that one

could use but it was a good under the librarty link I was impressed

with the window clicking on the LIBRARY link on the main page brought

up. So many options and other sources to chose from, I liked the

research tools that included Mindmapping Resources, Tools, and Tips.

The Facebook applications such as study groups and flash cards are an

inventive way to peel youngsters away from the either/ or option

between socializing or studying… it enables them to do both

simultaneously. For those more serious, there are other options such

as free downloadable software with dynamic visual interface to

personalize each scholarship investigation to suit the individual most

adequately.

This site was much more helpful than the other. There were a multitude

of concise links that displayed tips about planning ahead, preparation

initiatives, and most importantly obtaining the financial help

college calls for! The most proactive feature I found was the

calculator links. One has the ability to calculate family savings,

personal savings, and outlandish fiscal

situations. This feature helps to fundamentally understand aid, loans, and the

award systems that a currently plaguing students today. The

calculating is the most confusing step in money matters so the calculator feature is

There are many individuals in our lives that have motivated us, inspired us, and taught us more than others. They have touched us and have formed a somewhat personal relationship with us. But who do you ask for a recommendation? If you want to go into law, is it proper to ask a PhysEd instructor or sports coach? If language is your forte, is it okay to get a letter from the dean of the math department? It is wise to choose the most effective person to write you a recommendation letter. Choose someone who knows about your abilities and skills, someone who knows you as a person. A previous teacher, advisor, close friend, or a employer are good people to start with. I spent five minutes filling out a around thirty question about my academic success, extra curricular activities and organizations and activities my parents are involved in. From this I was able to obtain 343 possible scholarships, grants and prize money that I qualify for. The amounts ranged from $150 to $60,000. This website also gives a great way to start planning for college early. Laying out a time line of documents and decisions that should be made by the end of each semester starting with your freshman year of high school. I have a couple friends how have used this website to help guide them through the college process and to receive scholarships that they have been able to renew each year to contribute toward their education. I myself have used this website and have received a scholarship that I would only have been able through this website. The Child of a Single Parent Scholarship provides me with $2000 a year. This goes toward my tuition and to the cost of books. While it does not cover everything it helps and it’s $2000 that I don’t have to worry about coming up with each year when it comes time to pay tuition.
